D day is here and all systems are go … It couldn’t be a more perfect day for this weekend’s bride and groom and they’ve just arrived looking gorgeous. They’ve been greeted by a fabulous duo called Tux Fizz who are doing an acoustic set while guests meander on the lawn with prosecco and canapes. It couldn’t be more quintessentially English out of my window at the moment – small children, big hats and the pop of corks. Mind you, the caterer clearly is clearly braver than me – she’s just single handedly heaved the beautiful three tier wedding cake (made by the bride’s sister in law – what clever relations people have) from the cool of our “ballroom”, down two steps, round the corner, across the gravel and lawns, through the throng and into the marquee – all without breaking a sweat. I know me … I’d have dropped it half way across our sitting room!
Though it promises (as always) to be a late night for us, I always feel really privileged to see and be a tiny part of these happy & joyous occasions in people’s lives. Many congratulations to this weekend’s couple.
